  • Launching Broadband Lite, a new entry-level product for small businesses
  • Priced at £24.99 for 750K service and £34.99 for 1.5Mb service
  • Increasing bandwidth by up to 50 per cent on selected business broadband services at no extra cost
  • Delivering high-speed Internet access solutions to enable businesses to save and make money

27, October 2004 – ntl’s business division, a leading provider of business communications services, has widened its existing broadband portfolio with the launch of a new entry-level broadband service designed to drive efficiency and productivity for small businesses.

Priced at £24.99 for the 750K service – which is 13 times faster than a standard dialup Internet connection, and £34.99 for the 1.5Mb service – which is 25 times faster, ntl’s ‘Broadband Lite’ delivers higher bandwidth at lower costs than the equivalent products from BT.

The new services have been introduced to enable the UK’s smaller enterprises to harness the power of high-speed Internet access. Both packages offer the full benefits of ntl’s existing broadband suite, including a 24x7 business support service, ten email addresses and free domain name.

To further help businesses get connected, ntl’s business division is offering engineer installation for the same price as self installation on all Broadband Lite services ordered before 31 December 2004.

ntl has also upgraded the speed on all its existing cable modem services by up to 50 per cent, at no extra cost. These advances will increase Internet speeds from a 600K to 750K connection and from 1Mb up to 1.5Mb.

Research conducted by ntl’s business division in 2004 found that businesses save an average of 90 minutes a day using broadband. Broadband Lite will enable more businesses to realise the benefits of migrating from slow and unreliable dial-up connections to high-speed Internet access.

Simon Tse, Business Services Director, Small Business Unit, ntl’s business division, commented: “Our research shows that the business benefits of broadband are clear, with saving money and making money cited as the primary drivers for adoption. With the introduction of Broadband Lite, ntl is bringing high-speed Internet access to even more small businesses, and offering them exceptional value in terms of speed, price and features. There has never been a better time to buy broadband from ntl.”
