ntl:Telewest Business brings Class of Service controls to DSL
ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media group, has announced that it has upgraded its converged solutions portfolio and is now able to provide organisations with eight Class of Service options (CoS), across its IPVPN product, which includes it’s Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connections. This is a first for UK telecommunications providers.

Dollond & Aitchison eyes customer service vision with ntl:Telewest Business
ntl:Telewest Business, part of Virgin Media, has deployed an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IPVPN) using Multiprotocol Labelling System (MPLS) technology, with Digial Subscriber Line (DSL) services to each branch. The IPVPN connects all branches back to the company’s headquarters in Aston, Birmingham and mirrors data to a disaster recovery centre in nearby Yardley.

UK firms feel in the dark over BT’s £10 billion network upgrade, 21CN
UK businesses feel in the dark over the details of BT’s £10 billion Next Generation communications network project, 21CN, according to research conducted for ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media group. While BT’s project, which will see its entire UK network replaced, is due for full completion in 2011, a poll of business communications buyers undertaken for ntl:Telewest Business showed that three in five firms are unaware of 21CN.

ntl:Telewest Business, the supplier of communications services to the public and private sectors, has today announced that it has completed a significant network upgrade for the East Midlands Metropolitan Area Network (EMMAN Ltd), a high bandwidth Regional Data Network. The upgrade will enable 50 Higher and Further Education Institutions and specialist colleges to connect to SuperJANET5, the latest incarnation of the Joint Academic Network (JANET) provided by JANET(UK) on behalf of the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
