Equipment & first aid kit 

 

Individual team members kit list (mandatory)

The marshals will conduct random equipment inspections - you will not be allowed to climb if you are missing any of the mandatory items

  • Base layer top
  • Thermal Shirt and / or Fleece Jacket
  • Waterproof Jacket
  • Walking Trousers or Leggings  (Army Greens, Rohans, Crags etc – cotton based)
  • Waterproof Over trousers
  • Walking Boots  (broken in !)
  • Thick walking socks
  • Fleece Hat & Windproof Gloves
  • Rucksack (max 30Litres) /Daysack
  • Head Torch & spare Batteries
  • High Visibility Bivvy Bag
  • Whistle (no moving parts)
  • First Aid Kit (Items required are listed below, also check out the St Johns
  • Ambulance web site)
  • Food & Cold Drinks
  • Mobile phone  (with fully charged battery + 12v chargers in vehicles)
  • Sunscreen & Sun Glasses
  • Money – small change
  • Flask & hot drinks
  • Spare dry socks
  • Glow sticks (and cord) to be placed on back of rucksack when walking in the dark
  • Water Purification Tablets - !! NEW ITEM !!

  • Map & Compass (several)
  • 1 sleeping bag
  • All Contact details
     

Group equipment (recommended)

  • Walking/Trekking Poles
  • Space blanket(s)
  • GPS for backup
  • Lightweight Bivi Shelter or Bothy Bag for 4 people
     

First aid kit (per team member)

  • Pack of assorted fabric hypoallergenic plasters
  • 1 large wound dressing
  • 2 triangular bandages
  • 2 safety pins
  • Individually wrapped cleaning wipes
  • 1 pair sterile gloves
  • Personal Medication
     

Additional extras

  • Blister Dressings
  • Cotton Tape or mircoporous tape
  • Crepe bandage(s) [useful for knee and ankle support]
  • Waterproof paper/pencil
  • Tweezers
  • Duct Tape
