ntl:Telewest Business timeline
2007
On 14 February, the combined company
of ntl, Telewest and Virgin Mobile relaunched as Virgin Media,
creating the largest Virgin company in the world, with
almost 10 million customers and 13,000 employees across the
UK. The business division continues to be known as ntl:Telewest Business, whilst offering all
the innovation and great service you'd expect from part of the
Virgin Media Group.
In May, ntl:Telewest Business won 'Best
Security Project' at the 2007 IFSEC Security Industry Innovation
Awards for a ground-breaking IP CCTV project with North Lanarkshire
Council.
In June, ntl:Telewest Business achieved
MEF 14 certification, ensuring its Ethernet product portfolio
continues to be industry leading in the UK.
2006
On 3 March 2006, ntl Incorporated completed a
merger with Telewest Global, Inc creating ntl:Telewest
Business.
On 4 July 2006, ntl Incorporated completed its
acquisition of Virgin Mobile, creating the first opportunity for
customers in the UK to buy a quadruple-play of TV, internet and
fixed and mobile telephony services from a single operator.
At the end of the year, ntl:Telewest Business was voted best B2B
service provider for customer service by the Communications
Management Association.
